Tasty Mocktails to help curb your cravings and spice up your mood!
Pregnancy happens to take the “F” out of fun and puts a halt on delish beverages, but you don’t have to completely say au revoir to your favourite drinks because a baby is on its way. Whether you are hosting a party, expecting a baby or just not in the mood to consume alcoholic drinks, Mocktails minus the alcohol are going to spice up your celebrations.
So to all you pregnant ladies out there, I raise my glass to you. These easy mocktails- albeit without the alcohol are tailored for you to nourish your during pregnancy and support your baby’s growing needs.
These easy Mocktails are loaded with flavour, simple to make and very refreshing - Cheers, mamas!
1. The Sundown Mocktail
Super easy to make, beautiful, flavourful and energizing
Ingredients
- ½ cup mango juice
- Crushed ice
- 3 dashes grenadine
- Cherries for garnish
Make it
Fill half a highball glass with crushed ice. Add mango juice on top of the ice and then carefully pour grenadine on to the surface of the drink. Give the grenadine a few seconds to slowly sink to the bottom, giving you a gorgeous sunset effect.
2. Sparkling peach and pomegranate Mocktail
A Yummy drink with zippy unexpected flavours
Ingredients
- 1 12 ounce can of sparkling peach juice, chilled
- 2 ounces fresh pomegranate juice
- 6 to 8 berries for garnishing
- Some mint leaves, for garnish
Make it
In a high ball glass, add half the serving of sparkling peach juice. 1 ounce of the pomegranate juice and three to four berries. Top with a handful of mint leaves for garnish. Repeated these steps to make more Mocktails (the ingredients make enough for two tall glasses).
3. Lime and grapefruit mojito Mocktail
This Mojito Mocktail is perfect for patio dates.
Ingredients
- Half a bunch of fresh mint
- 1 grapefruit
- 2 limes sliced in to wedges
- Sparkling grapefruit water
Make it
Take 4 to 5 mint leaves. If you want a strong flavour of mint, place the leaves in to your palm and clap your hands together. You will instantly wake up the flavour. Squeeze one large grape fruit into a mason jar. If your grapefruit is sour, add a drizzle of agave or honey then place three lime wedges and mint in to the bottom of a tumble glass and muddle. Then add a splash of grapefruit juice on top of the muddled fruit .Fill up the glass with crushed ice and pour sparkling water. Enjoy with a garnish of lime.
4. Ginger orange Mocktail
Bound to win your heart
Ingredients
- 4 strawberries
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
- ¼ cup orange juice
- ¼ cup grapefruit juice
- Crushed ice
Make it
Muddle the strawberries at the bottom of the glass and pour in lime juice on top. Add ice and then top it up with grated ginger, orange juice and grapefruit juice. Run a lime wedge on the rim of the glass. Stir everything well to blend all flavours together.
5. Tropical kiwi and lychee Mocktail
An exotic fruit Mocktail you will fall in love with.
Ingredients
- ½ ounce lychee syrup
- 2 kiwi slices- 1 skin removed, 1 kiwi slice with skin on
- 1l2 ounce of lime juice
- ½ soda water
- ½ ounces soda water
- 1 wedge of lime
- Mint leaves
Make it
With a cocktail muddler press one skinless kiwi several times in a mixing glass. Add lychee syrup, lime juice and ice. Fill the glass with ice and then add soda water to lychee and lime mixture, then strain in to a tumbler glass over ice. Garnish with skin on kiwi, lime wedge and mint leaves.
6. Festive Moscow mule
This classic Mocktail is crisp, refreshing with a universal appeal
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- ½ cup club soda
- ¼ up ginger ale
Make It
Mix all things together in a copper mug. Add some crushed ice on top and garnish with a lime wedge.
7. Blueberry Chia Mocktail
Perfect for an extra dose of iron
Ingredients
- ½ cup frozen blueberries
- ½ half of a freshly squeezed lime juice
- ¼ cup chilled water
- ½ cup sparkling water
- ½ tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey
- Ice cubes
To make
In a mini blender combine blueberries, chilled water, lime juice, chia seeds and maple syrup. Blend until smooth. Transfer in to a cocktail glass. Add ice cubes, sparkling water and stir. Garnish with whole blueberries and a lime wedge.
8. Raspberry cosmo
A great Mocktail drink with simple ingredients
Ingredients
- ½ cup raspberry juice
- ½ cup chilled water
- Juice of a half lemon
- ¼ teaspoon fresh ginger root
- One teaspoon honey
- Ice
To make
In a cocktail shaker combine a handful of ice with half a cup of raspberry juice, chilled water, lemon juice, ginger root and honey. Shake well and pour in to glass. Garnish with a few half cut raspberries.
9. Simple strawberry lemonade Mocktail
Strawberry, Perrier and lemon make this virgin Strawberry Mocktail recipe one worth repeating!
Ingredients
- 5 strawberries
- ½ juice of a freshly squeezed lemon
- 1 can original Perrier
- ½ teaspoon cane sugar
- Ice
- Strawberry chunks for garish
To make
Muddle the strawberries into the bottom of a flute glass. Add ice, Perrier and top with lemon. Add in the cane sugar and stir to combine. Garnish with strawberry chunks.
10. Old school bloody Mary Mocktail
This virgin bloody Mary tastes as good as the real deal!
Ingredients
- 1 Celery stalk
- A dash of Tabasco
- Fresh rosemary
- Pinch of Black pepper powder
- Pinch of Garlic powder
- Dash of Worcestershire sauce
- Bloody Mary mix
To make
Prepare your glass with a salty rim. In a shaker, mix the bloody Mary mix, a splash of tobacco and Worcestershire sauce each, a pinch of garlic powder, and a pinch of black pepper powder. Shake it and pour over ice. Garnish with a stalk of celery and some rosemary.
11. Sangria surprise
This is the perfect Mocktail for pregnant mamas relaxing by the pool on hot days.
Ingredients
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 cup strawberry juice
- ½ cup mango juice
- 1 orange slice
- 1 pear sliced
- 5 strawberries cut into halves
To make
Mix together all the juices in a large jug. Add the sliced fruits. Leave to chill in the fridge or serve immediately with ice.
12. Pineapple mint Mocktail
Perfect to chill, cool off and relax!
Ingredients
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- ¼ cup lemon squeezed
- ½ cup carbonated water
- ¼ cup water
- 3 slices pineapple
- 4,5 mint leaves
- Ice cubes
To make
Mix pineapple juice and lemon juice together. Garnish with pineapple slices, mint leaves and ice cubes. Top with soda and serve.
13. The blueberry surprise
This is another delish fruity Mocktail for pregnant women to enjoy.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup lemonade
- ½ cup frozen blueberries
- ½ cup crushed iced
- Fresh Blueberries to garnish
- Mint leaves
To make
Blend together all the ingredients; serve in a tall glass with fresh blueberries and mint leaves to garnish.
14. Refreshing watermelon Mocktail
Packed with vitamin A and C and immune boosting lycopene
Ingredients
- ¼ cup grape juice
- ¼ cup tonic water
- ½ cup blended watermelon
- Watermelon wedge for garnish
To make
Put ice cubes in a tall glass and then pour in grape and watermelon juice. Add tonic water. Slide a watermelon slice on the rim and serve.
15. Peach Mocktail
Say cheers to fall for lovely peaches.
Ingredients
- 10 slices of fresh peaches
- 6 mint leaves
- ½ teaspoon stevia
- Juice of one lime
- Club soda
- Crushed ice
- Rosemary
To make
In a blender, puree the peaches, set aside. In a mason jar, muddle mint leaves and sugar. Add lime juice and top with pureed peaches. Shake well. Pour mixture in to a tall glass. Fill the glass with crushed ice. Top with club soda, garnish with a peach wedge and rosemary if desired.
